Execution

"MetroXpress" was persuaded to release an issue with a SIMS2 cover around the real editionof the day's paper. It was made to look exactly like a real newspaper, with front page stories, feature story and small back page stories. Inside, small stories, cartoons and SIMS figures were placed amongst the real editorial. "MetroXpress" was simply transformed into "The SIMS2 Daily".

Outcome

Based on a high response rate on the front page SMS competition, it was evident that The SIMS2 Daily actually had been read. The SIMS2 release was very successful. Despite competition from other big game releases, SIMS2 was the best selling computer game in Denmark in 2004.
