Background
In a move set to electrify tennis enthusiasts worldwide, Sky Sports, one of the leading sports broadcasting networks, unveiled plans for the launch of a dedicated tennis channel. To drive awareness, ignite excitement and capture the attention of sports aficionados, our mission was to generate a buzz around the launch of the Sky Sports Tennis channel.
Execution
We wanted to celebrate that beautiful moment die-hard and casual tennis fans alike know- where after a serve, smash or volley, the ball gets perfectly lodge in the wire fence. And we wanted to make it big. Like, really, big. So, we did just that, with a 1.3 m diameter, fuzzy Sky Sports tennis ball lodged in a 6m wire fence, sitting in a hollowed out 48 sheet.
In a world where AR is the new normal, our ambition was to put something impactful out there for people to enjoy for real.
Outcome
Post campaign awareness of the new tennis channel outstripped expectations at 64%, overtaking other more established sports channels like Sky Sports Golf and TNT Sports.
