We built a media platform that converts media budgets into feeding budgets. The process is simple: a brand buys ad space with Social Feed and gives us an ad they want shared. Each time a user shares the ad from the platform www.socialfeed.co.za (Website or Mobisite), to their Facebook or Twitter pages, the brand gives money to the PSFA to feed a child.
The platform is also open source so that other non-profit organisations can benefit from this self-sustaining system too.
Outcome
Social Feed has unlocked much needed funds for the PSFA from brand advertisers. The platform has managed to raise hundreds of thousands of Rands from some of South Africa’s biggest brands including Toyota, Lexus, Investec Asset Management, Lucky Star and many more – 90% of which have never sponsored the PSFA before.
Aside from many mentions on Social Media, plenty of radio airtime and discussions on our local news channels, Social Feed also received acknowledgment from the South African Parliament, who called it an innovative initiative that will make a real difference to fighting poverty in our country.
