How do we make people aware of the potential of solar energy as a real alternative in a striking new way?
Execution
We started with the assumption that using conventional printing techniques for our posters will be contradictory to the main purpose of the communication, because traditional printing techniques rely on conventional energy sources, release effluents and are a drain on the environment.
Which is why we decided to use the sun as our printing press.
Our technique was simple - use the age-old trick of using a magnifying glass to focus the sun's rays onto a sheet of recycled paper to create the world's first typeface that's truly eco-friendly, and powered by renewable energy.
Outcome
Since the activity commenced, the hits on our website www.energycentre.in have gone up four times and enquiries for conducting corporate and school workshops at our centre have increased dramatically.
This activity has also helped raise awareness in the corporate community and is a huge fillip in our efforts to get corporate grants for our new projects.
