OVERVIEW

Description

Media Revolution was engaged by Columbia Pictures to design and build the promotional site for the Spider-Man movie which is to be released in May, 2002. Nearly 18 months before the film's release, Media Revoluton began the initial phase of the project and launched the Phase 1 site on March 23, 2001. The site is updated with latest news on a weekly basis. Monthly, a larger feature (such as a streaming video feature on Costume Design) is added. The objectives of the Spider-Man Movie Web site are manifold, but Media Revoluton's focus at this early stage is to build a thriving fan community centered around the Web site. This was approached by initiating the Spider-Man Movie Network, where users have access to exclusive video, images, message boards, and other community features. The site's anticipated traffic and participation goals for the first month were surpassed within one week of launch; the site has generated a great deal of discussion in the online Spider-Man fan community, and Media Revolution's design and marketing initiatives will continue to drive traffic as the site grows and evolves in the year leading up to the release of the film.
