Telstra commissioned us to create a new brand campaign for their ever-increasing business communications market. Shot by feature film director and founder of the Tropfest Short Film Festival, John Polson, the commercial (Polson’s first) is a day-in-the-life-of story about a guy and his family set to the music of Harry Nilsson’s “Everybody’s Talkin”. To make the song more relevant to the idea, the agency undertook the very difficult task of re-writing the lyrics. The last thing we wanted was to destroy this classic tune from "Midnight Cowboy”. The commercial launched at the 2008 Tropfest in Sydney to a live audience of around 200,000 people throughout the country.
