The film is meant to demonstrate that even though the world may see a child's differences, a mom will always love and support that child unconditionally.

As the film opens, a little black girl is seen jumping on her bed as her mother lovingly watches her. Signed posters of famous female skiers, who all happen to be white, can be seen on the wall behind her.

The film then moves into a sequence of different children facing tribulations over the things that make them different, only to be consoled by their mothers.

When the film crescendos the little girl from the beginning is seen competing as an Olympic skier, having achieved her dream thanks to the love and support of her mother.
