Background

The Flower Council of Holland is a foundation funded by Dutch growers and traders to keep plants (and flowers) top of mind across Europe – specifically in markets where Dutch plants have by far the largest market share. For example: 60% of all plants in Germany are imported from Holland.

Our job was to develop a new communications platform that informs consumers about the fact that plants are not just stylish objects that need to be looked after and ‘cost’ energy, but that plants can play such an important and enriching role in people’s lives and give you so much in return that will improve your happiness and wellbeing.

Execution

'Thanks plants' is a lighthearted ode that thanks plants for all the good things they do for us. A simple, yet unusual gesture that invites people to think of plants as more than pretty green things that stand in the corner.

Driven by a song and a continuous pullback shot, the film takes viewers on a journey along all kinds of everyday situations in which plants play an important supporting role, all the while showcasing their beauty and impact on people’s health and wellbeing in a fresh, artistic and cheerful way.
