Background
Since its first outing in 1954, the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has brought the creative communications industry together every year at its one-of-a-kind event in Cannes to learn, network, and especially celebrate the best work of the year. Throughout its history, the Cannes Lions Jury experience has always been restricted to the members of the jury. Not anymore.
Idea
To create the first book that shares knowledge, conclusions, and perspectives developed by a Cannes Lions Jury.
Strategy
The 2017 Branded Entertainment Jury was composed of 15 jury members from different industries and backgrounds (creatives, media executives, entertainment executives, agents, PR executives, marketing directors). The strategy was to give each member space and freedom to share his or her unique point of view about not only what Branded Entertainment is but also about what it is becoming.
Execution
Implementation: The idea of the book came from the Branded Entertainment judging process in June 2017. From then on, it took 10 months for the book to be written.
The book was finally published exactly one year after the idea was conceived, in June 2018. The launching event was at the 2018 Cannes Lions Festival.
Scale: First print edition and first Kindle edition.
The book is now being translated to Japanese for its first international edition.
Outcome
Acclaimed and celebrated by some of the biggest names in the advertising and marketing industries.
1º place (print edition) and 2º place (Kindle edition) on Amazon pre-order list for a month.
