Description

Children are used to superheroes and hearing stories about their courage. But courage is also in their power and in everyone's power, therefore we gathered real life stories about real acts of courage and made them the inspiration for a different book of children stories - The Book of Courage.

Execution

To kick-start the campaign we set out to create a digital platform called the Courage Seekers in which we asked the Piraeus Bank community on Facebook to share its stories about real acts of courage they know about. Taken aback by an unexpected wave of positive reactions we launched the Courage Blog where we would invite our most vocal authors to detail their stories. After gathering amazing and inspiring stories, we decided the publish and launch a new children book - The Courage Book, that gathered the best of them. “10 little people doing big things” was at the core of the book’s philosophy, as we envisioned this as a collection of real stories written in a tone that would inspire even the youngest of our audience.

Outcome

More than 50 media stories in influent generalist, lifestyle, parenting, local and culture press, hundreds of stories with tens of thousands of reactions In digital & social media. In total, the campaign reached more than 8 million people. Top 3 children book of the year in only two months. More than 2,000 Courage Books books distributed in 40 public libraries in Romania reaching more than 40,000 children and inspiring them to read and become a new generation of courageous grown-ups.
