Description
We took two of the main digital trends – Gifs and Live Streamings – and joined them to create something completely new: a Live Gif.
A real time video, broadcasting for 24 hours, where everyone could watch Lord Somersby repeating the same movement: showing the bottle and drinking. A movement that recreates what happens when people try this new flavor: they never stop drinking. To make it more interesting and engaging, the Lord could be joined by several guests, that were put to vote on the platform. Every 7 minutes, the one that had the more votes would appear live. In addition, hundreds of actual gifs we being generated from previous actions, to be shared by fans on social networks.
Some celebrities also made special appearances. And for a 24-hour campaign, for a country like Portugal, the results were outstanding.
Execution
We created an online live streaming platform, for 24 hours, without any cuts. What would happen, would happen. To make everything more interesting and interactive, different characters were available every 7 minutes, and depending on what the public would vote, the most popular would join Lord Somersby. The fans could talk to Lord Somersby by leaving comments, and share all the gifs that kept being generated, from the previous actions. To give even more scale to this idea, a few celebrities were invited to join Lord Somersby in speficic times of the day, including a DJ that made a 1-hour set. These guests went live themselves on their social networks, increasing the number of views.
The fans kept being reminded about the Live Gif on the brand’s Facebook page.
Special banners were also created and placed in Portuguese websites, that not only communicated the platform, but were live themselves.
Outcome
More than 100.000 visits, divided by 74 countries
Total reach of 500.000 on facebook, between the posts made by the brand and the celebrities
26.000 votes made on the platform
30 mentions on national and international websites, some of which sharing the live transmission.
