Description

Technology changes fast. Faster than most people realize. The new showroom style of retail is the perfect destination to show shoppers just how far things are advancing to support their desires for new devices. It's also the perfect time to illustrate how Intel is inside the most innovative technology today and build greater affinity for the brand.

Execution

Intel worked with Best Buy to find the top performing 50 stores with space large enough to accommodate the 240sqft installation. From there the agency designed custom fixtures and technology, making prototypes to ensure all testing and compliance was in order before fabricating and building all 50. The custom creative executions were designed for each experience area and testing in labs installed to model the in store environment. This all happened over a compressed window of several months. From there the installs began and the staff was custom-trained to assist shoppers in exploring this unique experience. After launch the entire network of installations remained monitored and the next round of creative began being developed to continue this ongoing program now in its second year.

Outcome

The Intel Experience's innovative experience-first approach in retail has earned stellar results across all objectives set for the program. The program has delivered 28 unique experiences – from augmented reality to high-performance gaming to 3D printing to holograms to gestural control – and has registered over 1.5 million unique immersive impressions. The quality of the experience as indicated by net promoter score exceeded expectations at launch and continues to rise during each refresh. Metrics clearly show that our high-quality experiences connect consumers with Intel and strengthen their recognition of the brand. The Intel Experience produced a lift in the perception that “Intel was more innovative” and Intel brand attribution scores have consistently risen across all refresh cycles. Shopper intercepts show a significant “lift in consideration for Intel” with Best Buy shoppers after visiting The Intel Experience.
