Overview

Background

The deployment of Autonomous Vehicles at scale is disrupting the motor insurance industry. Neither insurers nor car manufacturers or public administrations have access to the same rich history of claims available for human drivers. Underwriting Autonomous Vehicles with potentially critical, unknown risks of new technology has never been more complex.

All key players in the industry need to accelerate data collection to enhance AVs’ reliability, to speed up their deployment onto a large scale and eventually get to the next stage of human mobility for the 21st century.

Idea

AVs are the future of mobility because they will eliminate human driving errors and fuel emissions. However, sentiment around AVs is very mixed because prospective consumers see them as a potential danger.

With The IRIS Project, Simulytic creates the first AI-powered tool simulating years of driving scenarios in a few seconds, to prevent Autonomous Vehicles risk, thus accelerating the global adoption of AVs.

Strategy

To The IRIS Project, becoming part of our everyday reality means granting both passengers and pedestrians a safer environment in which to move, leading to a more sustainable planning of traffic and infrastructures for cities around the world.

The IRIS Project will be available all over the world.

The IRIS Project will be the tool that takes AV mobility to the next level.

90% Crashes reduction potential

60% potentially harmful emissions decrease

24 billion estimated plus in premiums by 2030

Execution

The IRIS Project is the first AI-powered tool simulating years of driving scenarios in seconds, to prevent Autonomous Vehicles risk. Thanks to The IRIS Project, years and years of real-life testing can be replicated virtually. Users can select the area on the map and the route. Only then the tool scans the route and uses AI to create a dynamic model with all available data on the selected area such as annual weather conditions, daily vehicles flow and pedestrians' behaviors. On this model IRIS simulates the exact same itinerary up to 2 million times, giving a personalized and downloadable report on where and when risks and dangers may occur with exceptional accuracy.

The IRIS Project is an AI platform, which combines simulation of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), traffic engineering and AV development. Thanks to all these technologies, The IRIS Project can simulate a real-time traffic situation between AVs and pedestrians, bicycles, and other road users.

The IRIS Project is a beta platform.

The IRIS Project has been presented in 2021 and now is fully developed and available for everyone, leading a step change for mobility.
