Olympians are the most extraordinary athletes on the planet. But the refugee Olympic and Paralympic team athletes have a story like no other. “The Journey” tells the story of a refugee woman who has to flee her home to escape conflict and certain death. Her arduous journey to freedom isn’t an easy one, and her life is constantly on the line. But eventually, having reached safety, she stops running away from something and starts running towards something; Olympic Gold.

The film focuses purely on the protagonist's legs, which allowed us to incorporate a number of real refugee athletes' experiences into a single narrative.
