Execution

Our proprietary shooting rig changed the game for Nike and the skateboarding community, allowing the capture of multiple angles and minute details of a trick in one pass.

We fitted several cameras to a specially designed dolly that wrapped around the board and we shot pro skaters landing tricks. The footage is presented through our patented playback system that allows users to view the action like never before, choosing between angles and manipulating playback direction and speed.

This technology pushed the Nike SB app to the next level and powered Nike SB’s main branding effort for the year. The launch was a success and the app continues to flourish.

Outcome

The purpose of the Nike SB App and its technology is to grow skateboarding participation. We’re doing that and more.

Since launch, there have been over 60,000 uploaded videos and more than 10,000 games of S.K.A.T.E. played.

From this point forward, skateboarders will seek to learn tricks and experience the sport in unprecedented ways, taking advantage of our current technology and authentic insights.
