Description
The event would feature a cast of characters straight out of the adults-only tent at a carnival - fire eaters, sword swallowers, a woman lying on a bed of broken glass, an ecdysiast – highlighted with performances by Torey Lanez, Andrew W.K., Shaggy and DJ Jazzy Jeff. A simple poster – an advertising medium born in the 15th century - stands alone to lure practitioners of bleeding edge 21st century advertising to adult entertainment born in the late 1800s.

The poster teases the “carny” theme through simple coloration, imagery and design elements inspired by 19th century P.T. Barnum and latter day stylized circus poster art. The whirly red striped background was a nod to the original big top tents, providing the inebriated feel that is captured at the event itself. The primary and tertiary imagery celebrate this first form of advertising with a cast of familiar carny performers and their colorful talents, along with a visual allusion to the arch-shaped entrance at the actual event. The title and information area disrupts the bottom fourth of the layout, creating the perception of the page being torn off to reveal event details while evoking the modern cinema experience. All the typography was custom lettered in the style of a charming sign one might find playing a carnival game.
Outcome
They came, they consumed, they potentially slept with their colleagues , they blew up social media and, when they woke up the next day, they told their friends that it was EPIC. The legend continues.
