Description
To advertise the Car-Net Window Defroster, we created: the Phone Scraper - a phone case that also works as an ice scraper. It was sent out to potential customers in a limited edition mailing to carry a special message: “Now you can defrost your car using a phone. But you might prefer to use our app for it. The Volkswagen Car-Net Window Defroster.” A link led the recipients to the Volkswagen Car-Net website, where they could further convince themselves that buying a new Volkswagen is a smarter choice.
Execution
We developed: the Phone Scraper. A phone case that also works as an ice scraper. Designed with high aspiration. Colored in corporate blue. Parceled in premium packaging with a defrosted viewing window. And sent out to potential costumers in a limited edition mailing to carry a special message: “Now you can defrost your car using a phone. But you might prefer to use our app for it. The Volkswagen Car-Net Window Defroster.” A link led the recipients to the Volkswagen Car-Net website.
Outcome
The Phone Scraper not only enthused potential customers with the Car-Net app and the brand itself, it also massively raised the numbers of Car-Net registrations. Finally, it made winter a little less tough for everyone who switched to a new Volkswagen.
