How can we fascinate consumer on Facebook with an ad that makes them want to go on a journey with the German Rail right away?
We let the consumer experience the new speed of German Rail first-hand: with the Speed-Reading-Video. The speed reading technique allows you to read without the need to move the eyes. We used that technique for a train journey trip video from city to city. Thereby the speed of the text raises to the speed of the ICE in the video. The viewer has the feeling to travel from the city to city in just only 30 seconds.
Execution
The speed reading technique allows anyone to read without moving their eyes. The effect is stunning: Everyone is able to read much faster than before.
Using this technique we took consumers on a train ride – at high-speed. In the video the reading speed adjusts according to the train's speed. Thus giving the viewer the feeling of traveling from city to city in just 30 seconds.
A button at the end of the video linked directly to the German Rail website providing information about the new direct connections and ticket service.
Outcome
Wide media penetration in reaching the target group with 7,8 million. CPV was 0,07 Euro, 52% of the target group watched the video to 50% and 20% watched till the end, which is a great success. In total 8.526 clicked the ad and were linked to the German Rail website and could by a ticket.
