Execution

“Working hard to make a living, bringing shelter from the rain, a father's son left to carry on, blue denim in his veins”. These are the opening lyrics of Jimmy Barnes’ Working Class Man. It’s a song that resonates with all hard working Australians. And especially our steel working main character Danny. The lyrics, “Well, he's a steel town disciple, he's a legend of his kind,” perfectly sum up our protagonist’s life, which is why when we strip the song back and craft it into a classical rendition it represents the life he wishes he could live. The song was composed and performed by our main character and indigenous violinist Eric Avery. Beautifully capturing the two sides of his character, the steel mill and his dream of performing on stage.
