Description

From your first interaction with Volkswagen UK we connect your entire journey. Once you start configuring your car, we save your configurations to the My VW app.

In the car dealerships, a Showroom app connects and creates a personalised brochure from your saved configurations and your in-store likes and choices. Prospective owners share their dream cars with friends and family.

After you’ve purchased, the My VW app turns into a delivery tracking tool – following car from factory to driveway.

Once you have the new keys in your hands, the app turns into a personal concierge, letting you know when your next service is, putting the owners manual in your pocket and keeping track of garage appointments and maintenance. Live video analytics connects owners to mechanics, to sign off work remotely. Finally, near the end of your contract, a financial clock informs owners of parity and suggests a new car.

Execution

The whole award winning ecosystem has been meticulously put together by our User Experience Architects and Service Designers – and all underpinned by a rock solid and flexible tech platform.

Using data to help guide our decisions, we’re constantly evolving and iterating on our suite of products and services to meet the needs of VW customers. The design of all our touch points is simple and solid but we add a human element throughout our thinking to create warm smiles through out the experience.

Building off the brand promise of reliability and quality, we built all our tools to feel as solid and reliable as their cars. We tell real stories from experiences and we develop with real people. This journey has been closely controlled by creative guidelines and experience guidelines that have landed each part of this journey. Thus why it looks, sounds and feels VW.

Outcome

Volkswagen UK's connected customer ecosystem is tomorrow’s dream for many brands. By reimagining what an automotive experience can be, the new VW connected customer journey has transformed their business - and influenced car purchase forever. Digitally-speaking, we’re just getting started. The future - the next five years – will see new and emerging technologies in the ecosystem, from virtual and augmented reality to artificial intelligence through predictive data… the future of “digital” customer experience will be much less about the semantics of computers, and much more about the experience of magic.

The results speak for themselves:

- Volkswagen UK is the number 1 most visited automotive site in the UK

- 2.7 million visitors a month.

- 1.8 million online configurations (mar16-17)

- 13,395 test drives booked online (mar’16-17)

- £600+ increase on Cars sold with digital tools

- 334,897 personlised brochures created (mar16-17)
