It was important to the director to create a sequel to The Underdogs that spoke to the current times, without feeling like another “COVID ad”. The director shot remotely with 5 virtual sets around the country, seamlessly allowing the logistical challenges around the production to be echoed by the coworker’s obstacles in the film. The piece was meant to feel uniquely of the times and intentionally messy, yet held together by the quirky and lovable coworkers from the original spot.
Seamlessly weaving product shots and demonstrations into the film, the director crafted a farcical environment that allowed the brand to get away with throwing the product into the spot more blatantly.
