Description
Despite the beauty of living in the pure nature, it carries some risks, mainly due to the unpredictable external factors. There are some certain things that are musts to be carried in the backpacks of naturelovers. However, there is a limit to what you can carry and you can never exactly know what you may need.
We built onto this insight and came up with the idea of a survival kit that is disguised as an instruction label. The instruction labels of Columbia jackets were turned into survival kits, made of 7 layers of metal. These layers contain things that are useful in the nature; a fishing line, saw, wrench, water filter, sewing kit, compass and ruler.
Execution
6mm plates of military-grade stainless steel goes through high-precision laser cutting process first. After that, the milled plates are laser engraved with a UV printing finish. The fish-line to is used to tie the label to the featured products. The water filter has 4 layers of high quality silk and activated-carbon particles in the middle to ensure the best possible purifying.
Outcome
The real result for Survival Labels will be, hopefully, when a life is saved through this project. Meanwhile, all we have is the praise we got from the outdoor community. And that matters a great deal for us. From professional athletes to nature enthusiasts, people who love outdoors also loved - and shared- Survival Labels, encouraging us to get this small scale project to a globally distributed promotional add-on to Columbia gear.
