Execution

Working closely with NatWest, RBS and Apple we created:

• an onboarding experience to introduce the new functionality.

• Customizable controls in the app giving customers the option to choose a login method

• A model that paves way for use of other biometric authentication methods on the mobile app

Outcome

The results speak for themselves:

• In just five days 72% of all capable iOS logins were via TouchID

• App store reviews went from 3 stars to 4 stars with the release of the update.

• Over 8000 references to RBS & NatWest on Twitter in the first 24 hours after launch

• Tweets from BBC News (3M+ followers), The Guardian (3M+ followers), Money Saving Expert (170k followers), The Drum (120k followers), BBC Technology reporter Rory Cellan-Jones (140k followers)

• Traditional media coverage included the above as well as The Daily Mail, The Mail, The Herald, ITV-1, BBC Radio, The Daily Telegraph, The Metro, and The Financial Times amongst others.
