Background

Situation

Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, there was a massive influx of disinformation around the conflict and what was happening in the region. BBC News teams were putting their lives on the line to make sure the public had access to a news it could trust about the conflict.

Brief

The brief was to show audiences at home the incredible lengths BBC journalists on the ground go through to make sure that what they’re reporting is reliable and accurate, driving home that these incredible efforts are why they can trust BBC news.

Objectives

Our aim was to remind the public of the incredible lengths the BBC goes to to ensure its news is reliable by showcasing the incredible bravery of our journalists.

Execution

The edit is crafted entirely from footage captured by BBC news teams on the ground during the initial invasion of Ukraine.

Outcome

The Campaign is still live, and we don’t yet have the full results of its

impact, however the initial results say that it has researched very well

with the audience.
