Background

Enhance and impact through Branding, build a trust in the quality of brand and to attract even more new gamers, by creating a film, emulating the various features of the game as much and close as possible, to help engage and build better brand royalty amongst the users as well as to establish and build a better understanding of the functions of the game to new users. Easy to grasp, a game for all ages.

Also through implementing a high quality Live Action short film to attract a larger audience and gamers to our platform. Also by being the first company in South East Asia to create Live Action movie using a 12-meter curved screen with Unreal Engine technology, thus, building a stronger and greater confidence in our brand quality.

Our female protagonist to communicate and portray strength, empowerment and competitiveness that possess amongst female gamers.

Idea

The idea is to bring the experience of the game to live. As close to reality as possible, engaging the audience, bringing them through the various situation and scenarios of the game. Gamers who are known to the game can further feel intrigued as they can experience each part as they have played before. Even for the new to the game, they are able to grasp the mission of the game simultaneously.

Strategy

We used the various features such as the scenes, situations, props and executions from the game, to be part of the ingredients in the film. Created the characters in which the viewer were able to relate, follow, sympathize and be apart of the film, to get the message through to them as well as entertaining them. Announcing a schedule launch date, as well as, release of teasers were used to hype up the interest and anticipation. Finally launching as a Live broadcast enabling users and fans to comment instantaneously.

Execution

The synopsis took about two weeks. Thereafter the details of the production were scaled into place, with each department playing an important part. The preproduction and screenplay took two months. The Unreal Engine Tech was used, which prompted the importing the screens from overseas. A very renowned and distinguished female celebrity was contracted for our main protagonist. A 5-day live shooting in a studio setting. Two weeks in editing. 4 months in computer graphics and post production. Live on Free Fire Facebook Page and other online channels.

Outcome

After the launch of the film, it obtained 9.8M views on Facebook - Garena Free Fire Thailand and 4.8M views on Youtube - Garena Free Fire Thailand, with 1 million views on the first day. And 5 million views within a week.

Twitter #1 Worldwide Trends in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and Peru. A rating of 8.2 from MyDramaList.com. 55% increase in Positive Comments, escalating increase in online subscribers and followers.
