In 6 weeks, 8,906 people purchased a bargained sale PANTENE through the UV-PRICE, and used PANTENE to wash and protect their hair right at the beach house. Also learning the new fact that UV rays damage your hair 3 times more than your skin, and PANTENE was the answer to such strong UV rays. 100% of all women who visited the PANTENE beach house purchased a new bottle of PANTENE. The average UV_PRICE per purchase bottle was 53% cheaper than the original price in the market.

Everyone at the beach was happy to pay for the special bargain, and became a fan of PANTENE from then on.

Outcome

UV rays are invisible to the human eye, and making people realize the danger of UV ray damage to the hair is difficult. UV rays are not only strong on sunny days, but could be worse on cloudy days. So educating the target audience showing real-time UV ray figures was shocking and important. And also the surprise that the product was not for the skin was also important and meaningful. Normally UV ray care is only for skin care products, which make the news more surprising and attract more attention.

So we made the world’s first bargain interlocked to UV ray data.

A UV ray detector on the roof of the PANTENE beach house measured real-time UV ray data and sent it to the special digital signage inside the beach house. Which showed the visitors the accurate UV ray figures in real-time, in a line graph and in numbers.

When the UV rays were strong the price of a PANTENE bottle set went down. Allowing the beach lovers to not only notice the strong rays outside, but also to learn the whole reason for PANTENE to be linking real-time UV ray data to their product.

On the other hand when the UV rays were weak the PANTENE price went up. Allowing the visitors to understand the importance of UV ray care when the rays were strong.

Every second a new price emerged, shown on the digital signage, and a new never-to-be-missed opportunity was created using real-time UV ray figures. Every second counted as every yen. A rare opportunity not to be missed for bargain lovers. And for those who care for their beauty.
