McCANN ERICKSON, New York / THE BRADY CAMPAIGN / 2014
Current online petitions are passive and forgettable. The user feels no emotional connection to the cause, nor do they feel like they’re truly helping with a simple ‘click here’. By creating the first petition you sign with your voice, the user is not only showing their support in an active, vocal way, they’re also provided with a one-of-a-kind piece of social currency in the form of a visual Voice Signature. Just like a fingerprint, no two voice signatures are alike, and each can be added to the user’s social profile, which turns them into public advocates.
The Voice Petition engaged, and more importantly, empowered people in a way that’s never been done before. At its peak, 1000 voices were raised to Congress a day, and celebrities such as Paul McCartney, Tony Bennett, Jim Carey, Elton John, and Mario Batali raised their voices in other ways.
