Volkswagen Paper Football took the childhood game everyone loves and made it awesome with a built-in 3D physics engine, ever-changing weather conditions, ten increasingly difficult levels, and a seamless connection into fans’ CBS fantasy leagues. If players flicked their way to the top score in their league, that player could push taunts to banners on opposing players’ fantasy league homepage. After all, trash talking your friends is what fantasy football is all about.
Outcome
The VW Paper Football unit immediately broke through the overcrowded Fantasy Football industry. And fantasy players started settling their in-league rivalries in the Paper Football arena. During the first week, users interacted with the brand for an average of 87 seconds - 15 times the industry norm.
