Description

VR, the railway operator in Finland, announced a comprehensive 12 point environmental programme with ambitious goals to be met by 2012. Being by nature the most energy-efficient mode of transportation, VR desires to claim leadership in environmental sustainability. The Stonemen, four lamp-holding statues at Helsinki railway station, symbolise both VR and the railway institution in Finland. The animated Stonemen have formed the fundament of VR brand communication starring in several episodes since 2002. The characters, widely recognised by the Finns, were the natural casting for the film.

The objective was to communicate the 'greenness' of travelling by train.
