Steers Wacky Wednesday is a massively popular promotion in South Africa. You get 2 Steers Burgers at a really good price. The only thing that changes is the sauces on the burgers.
Every Wednesday these radio spots appear on national radio where people have to guess what flavor the burgers are. The 30” 'Clues' are presented at the beginning of the ad break and the 10” 'Answer' and the price are played at the end of the ad break creating a gap of about 5 radio spots in between.
This campaign was so successful that the sauces continually ran out long before the promotion was meant to finish and new flavours had to be rushed in ahead of time.
