Background

LINE TV, Mobile TV Application has been giving its services since 2014 and would like to continue their expansion and reach new markets with the end goal of getting more Thais to watch LINE TV on their smartphones.

Idea

LINE TV came up with new ways in order to help more Thai people to watch their favorite shows through their smartphones via the cutting-edge gadgets that have enabled people to watch their favorite shows regardless of the circumstances, place and time. After the launch of the gadgets, an online film was published to further support the campaign.

Strategy

Most Thai people are very engaged with entertainment regardless of its form. But, there are always countless hours of entertainment to be had yet sometimes circumstances dictates and prevents them from enjoying their favorite shows. We took this chance and directly communicated to our audience for them to use LINE TV more on their smartphones. So we create a new way which can draw people to watch LINE TV by creating new gadgets. Then we introduce gadgets via entertaining online film that people feel related to. Our pieces of works can entertain Thai people to enjoy and be more fun with LINE TV. In turn, they will love brand LINE TV more as well.

Execution

LINE TV came up with new ways in order to help more people to watch their favorite shows through their smartphones via the cutting-edge gadgets that help people to watch their favorite shows regardless of the circumstances, place and time.

After the launch of the gadgets, an online film was published to further support the campaign. A story of a Thais who are obsessed with watching LINE TV so much that they unconsciously imitate their favorite dramas in real life. The cutting-edge gadgets came in handy to aid their needs for entertainment. With the help of the gadgets, such as the Seasoning Set Phone Holder, Neck Cushion Phone Holder, Fortune Lady Phone Holder, and the Wash Basin Phone Holder, they can now watch their favorite shows anywhere at any time. The end credits showed a list of physical locations and online pages where consumers can try out and enjoy gadgets.

Outcome

After launching the campaign, “Watching Obsession”, online films created up to 27 million views. LINE TV then became the no.1 platform for live streaming and reruns in Thailand. The number of downloads for the app has improved by 8.2 million downloads. Brand awareness has increased dramatically from 35% to 86% while video views went up by 136%. Lastly, the number of people watching LINE TV everyday has grown exponentially from 10% to 69%.
