Wombstories was cut during 6 weeks during the beginning of 2020. There was constant dialogue with the various animators involved - figuring out the story of the “inside” of each womb and how it would connect to the women. It was pretty heavily storyboarded going into the shoot but once the 5 different scenarios were weaved together, the connections and transitions often needed to be re-thought. So in short, a lot of back and forth, a lot of pulling it apart and piecing back together again. It was also difficult to cut together the more tragic storylines with the funnier light-hearted moments, as well as intimate footage with animation. To make it powerful, real and funny while also encapsulating the scope of experiences and the very real pain.
