We invited all radio stations to mute the song every time a woman’s name was supposed to be mentioned. When people were supposed to hear “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”, they only heard “ __ in the sky with diamonds”, this simple action allowed us to raise awareness about the women who are missing, not in these songs, but because they were femicide victims that year. We used songs that already were part of the radio stations’ regular programing, this allowed them to play whichever song they wanted that included a woman’s name in it. This way, we managed to air many songs from different music genres, by silencing the names of: Gloria, Macarena, Penelope, Maria, Roxanne, Lady Laura, Angie, among others.
