We invented 5 innovative X-TECH GEAR: Intelligent Shooting Helicopter is a Quadcopter camera that has sensors that automatically follows the target. It was inspired by X-Trail’s technology that automatically slots you into a parking spot. LED Night Suit was inspired by X-TRAIL’s super luminosity LED technology. Safety Shield Goggles that detects and alarts you of any danger around you came from X-Trail’s Safety Shield Technology. Active Ride Grip allows the rider to move in-sync with the car. Advanced Display Board displays all the cool actions riders make. We uploaded detailed information about the technologies used in the X-TECH GEAR on X-Trail’s website and created buzz.
Outcome
X-TECH GEAR created huge buzz in digital channels as well as in the snow mountain events. The website had 2.8 million SS and 90,000 dealer search in 3 months, and was shared 2,700 times on SNS.
Dealer visits triggered by website reached over 85,000 visitors (overachieved target by 128%).
Close rate for viewers of the X-TECH GEAR site was close to 3 times more than WEB catalogue viewers. This meant a difference of 957 units in sales.
As a result, X-TRAIL gained most “young age owners” in all Nissan cars and achieved total 25,000 sales in just two months, becoming the fastest selling model in X-TRAIL’s history. The all-new X-TRAIL became the annual No.1 selling SUV.
