Description
Brief: to make (cheap) viral mpeg films to promote the YoungGuns advertising festival, and its call for entry deadline, remembering that YoungGuns can only be entered by under-30'sSolution: We wanted to ensure that the mpeg’s would have the necessary "forward on" factor- that makes you take out time to send on to friends, and for them to take out time to bother to open it. Also the fact that YoungGuns is an under-30's competition meant that we would have to be loud and disruptive for that age group, who see a hundred mpeg’s a day. So they had to be outrageous as well as relevant. To accompany the print of real child prodigies ("The World's Youngest Motorbike Daredevil", "The World's Youngest Chef" etc) we wanted to explore the child prodigy idea, and the "Peak Early" line, to other, less well-known professions where kids could be top of their field before they were 30, or even 12.The (fake) child prodigy movies were co-written and directed by skateboard movie makers, occasional Jackass contributors and John Lydon cohorts- Ryan Monihan and Chris Nieratko, aka Freshkills
