More than a coffee shop with high-quality coffee, Starbucks Coffee Korea is the company that also brings a feeling of connection. Starbucks' mission is to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time. The target customer range of Starbucks Coffee Korea is from early 20's to 30's, mostly female. By launching various types of tumblers and mugs, the company encourages customers to use personal mugs and tumblers instead of paper cups. It is a way to raise awareness for waste-reduction opportunities.
ClientBriefOrObjective
Traditional elements were used to celebrate the Year of the Sheep, but at the same time, the collection needed to appeal to the customers of Starbucks Coffee Korea, who are mostly in their 20's and 30's. The challenge was to bring out new and fresh mood while designing with a traditional subject matter.
Execution
By using fresh color palette such as different shades of blue, as well as various geometric patterns, it brought out a modern twist into a subject matter that could be old and traditional, ultimately succeeding in appealing to younger customers.
Patterns vary from twinkling thin lines to bold and vivid shapes, giving the collection a modern edge. A touch of gold adds accents to enhance the quality of the product.
