Write a short summary of what happens in the film

In this series, Sarah Franklin, President and CMO, Salesforce, interviews leaders in marketing and business. We feature CEOs, CMOs, Chief People Officers, and founders. We interview small business owners and executives from major brands and film on-location with an activity that is unique to the guest. Our objective is to educate and entertain the marketing audience with helpful tips and takeaways so that they could become better at their jobs.

Explain how the work innovatively used the film medium.

In designing this series, we thought carefully about ways to reimagine the conventional interview format. After two years of social distancing, we committed to embracing human connection and incorporating a sense of place into every episode to help infuse the conversation with energy and originality. That design thinking goes into every interview. What setting or activity best reflects the subject and will help activate the conversation? For instance, we permitted San Francisco’s stunning Presidio for our conversation with Strava founder Mark Gainey. Their conversation, strolling among the towering old growth trees of California left viewers with a clear sense of Gainey’s innovative app (they tracked a 1.5 m run in the episode on the platform). We also brought an innovative approach to the filmmaking with drone cameras capturing their sweeping trail in the iconic Bay Area.
