BriefExplanation
In this ever-connected era when everyone is tethered to their electronic devices at all times, the traditional family dinner—where family members break bread and actually talk and connect in person (rather than on their devices)—is under siege.
Directed by O Positive’s Jim Jenkins, “Dinnertime” dramatizes what this time of day and this social ritual has meant throughout the ages and how, thanks to Xfinity xFi, Mom and Dad now have the power to pause their WiFi at dinnertime and win back that most essential of family-time moments.
EntrySummary
Forty-two percent of families cannot remember the last time their family had a device-free meal. Parents across the country are almost unanimous in their belief that disconnecting from devices during mealtimes improves family bonding. A Comcast study showed that more than half of parents have been told by their children to put their cell phones away during meals. The xFi Pause button has quickly become the most popular feature of the new Xfinity xFi platform. Parents even go so far as taking away their children’s devices an average of once per week.
