OVERVIEW

BriefExplanation

We accompanied the national police in different operatives along the country looking for drivers under the effects of alcohol. We had with us a small crew that recorded the offenders reading an awareness message with their particular tone of voice as drunk drivers.

EntrySummary

In 2017, drunk drivers caused more than 1.300 victims in Colombia and this number has increased despite campaigns and the strict operatives. In addition, radio is the medium most used by Colombian drivers, even more than digital platforms and music devices.

ScriptInEnglish

My name is (CENSORED NAME).

The police pulled me over before I caused an accident or ended the life of another person.

They took away my licence, they took away my car, gave me a ticket and asked me to deliver this message.

Last year, drivers like me killed and injured more than 1.300 colombians.

So if you’re going to drink, don’t drive.

You may not be as lucky as I’m and you don’t end up in jail but dead.

ANNOUNCER: Don’t drink and drive. This is a message from the Colombian National Police.
