EntrySummary
Every year, 65 million tons of plastic waste wind up in our oceans. If we go on like this, by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea. That’s why the NGO Pacific Garbage Screening was founded. A team of architects, scientists and engineers found a way to free our oceans of plastic with a specially constructed floating platform. In order to attract attention to the problem – and to generate donations in order to build the floating platform – they asked us to create a strong visual campaign. Our idea: What goes around comes around. When plastic waste goes into the ocean, it goes into the fish, which means that if the fish go onto our plates, the plastic waste goes into our bodies. Pollute the ocean, and you pollute yourself.
