This is the first time Slayer’s Raining Blood has ever been used on an ad. It is the last soundtrack anyone would have expected from a renewable energy company and Peter Finch’s iconic speech from Network was the perfect encapsulation of the fury we wanted the public to feel towards the climate change deniers and the fossil fuel companies polluting the planet.

BriefExplanation

The film features everyday appliances that makes up our daily lives, plugged into the earth as a metaphor to show that renewable energy could power our world. We realise that our entire lives can be powered a different way.

The televisions on the beach feature climate change deniers ranting, these are drowned out by the iconic call-to-arms ‘Get Mad’ speech from the film Network, which becomes a rousing and provocative voice for change.

The film is set to thrash metal band Slayer’s most famous track ‘Raining Blood’.

EntrySummary

Climate change is happening and it is time to call it out. OVO Energy was founded to take on the fossil fuel energy providers and show that there was a better way to power your life without destroying the planet.

We wanted to provoke anger and a reaction to the disastrous decisions being made globally by politicians. We wanted people to get mad.

The aim was to create a noisy, unapologetic, confident campaign that didn’t conform to the usual tropes of meek and mild environmentally friendly companies. We wanted consumers to look at the campaign and literally feel like it was time to take a stand and do something about global warming.
