Car ads make people dream. So what if they could check right away if that dream can become reality? Get This Car is a mobile app that allows you to point your phone at car ads and gives you the car loan rate of that exact car model in real time. You can simply adjust the term of your loan and directly get in touch with your nearest banker to talk about it and to make an appointment.
Execution
The app was announced through owned media. A press release was sent to general media and media active in the automotive industry. The app was launched in advance of the Brussels Motor Show. This is the moment that most Belgians start looking for a new car. Extra communication was done at the time of the Brussels Motor Show, by being present at the 1 week event and also at the roads leading to the event, with (digital) outdoors.
Outcome
50% of the download KPI was already reached after 2 weeks. The rest of the KPI was completed over the following months. 30% more valuable leads were generated than last years traditional campaign. This resulted in a 21% increase of sold car loans.
Relevancy
The Get this Car app is a unique way of actively involving people in the process of getting a car loan, where other banks stick to telling people about their car loan product. For the first time people could point their smartphone at any car ad to find out in real-time the car loan for that exact model. It’s something you just want to try.
Strategy
The target audience was mainly men 18 – 54, thinking about buying a new car.

Most banks talk about their car loans, but we wanted to engage with people. And the best moment to do that is the moment they get seduced by a car ad.

Record Bank has always been the bank that is close to their customers. Not only on a personal level, but also in terms of location, with a network of many small banks instead of big offices. Their mission: Make banking simple.
