EntrySummary
Lebanon has absorbed more than 2 million Syrian refugees, drastically increasing the number of children begging on the streets to survive. Some were exploited by gangs who used the money to buy illicit items and substances. Unsure of where their money was going, the Lebanese stopped giving - leaving the majority without access to basic necessities. To get the Lebanese to give again, Bou Khalil Supermarché created an alternate currency to be handed to street children. The Good Note can only be spent on good things (food, water, personal hygiene supplies, medicine) at all Bou Khalil supermarkets branches and its affiliated pharmacy. To raise awareness, a print campaign was developed that visually demonstrates the need to give responsibly with the Good Note. The illicit item featured is handcrafted from the Lebanese 1000 pound note, commonly given out to street children, using a collage technique.
