CampaignDescription

There is water on Twitter !

Internet users can produce water thanks to Twitter by filtering their Twitter account to extract Hs, 2s and Os in order to create virtual water molecules. Once transformed into a donation, this water will become very real and will help fund programmes that will improve access to clean water. A unique amazing experience!

Execution

So as to interest celebrities, journalists… and young people, we worked on a 2 steps operation :

1st Step : a teaser step before the 22th of march via :

Lots of celebrities, bloggers… we sent before their own H2O Filter bottles, began to relay on Twitter so as to arouse interest of people.

Step 2 :

On world water day, celebrities, journalists… speaked again about the H2O Filter operation by encouraging people to filter their own Twitter account.

Outcome

With no media budget :

Twitter community massively reacted :

- 35,6 millions of impression Twitter

- 12,5 millions of reach

- 480 000 L of collected water

unicef.fr :

- + 250 % sessions vs a punctual UNICEF France operation

Donations :

- +50% vs a medium donation punctual UNICEF France operation

Strategy

Our Data Specialist invented an algorythm to create a filter so as to extract virtual water molecules in Twitter accounts. We put it in a web site and made this unique experience as fun as possible so as to sensitize young people to water access and motivate them to transform their virtual water into a donation for UNICEF water programms.

And solidarity did the rest !
