EntrySummary
The sun is made up of two different types of rays - UVA and UVB. UVA rays are able to penetrate deeper into the skin and cause permanent damage, whereas UVB rays cause immediate damage on the skin surface, such as sunburn.
Over 50% of parents choose suncream based on its SPF rating, which only protects against UVB. They do not know what the UVA rating is. This campaign aims to help parents understand the risk of exposing their children to UVA damage if they use a suncream without 5* UVA protection.
The campaign uses images of tattoos on children to highlight the permanency of UVA damage. Much like a tattoo is permanent on the skin, so is the damage caused by UVA rays. By making parents aware some leading brands don't have 5* UVA rating, we encourage them to be certain with Soltan.
