OVERVIEW

Synopsis

The film shows a girl getting ready to shoot a penalty kick in a soccer game. She looks to the sky as she pep talks to herself.

The VO is saying that there are many reasons to do something, like doing it for the freedom to believe in what you want. Yet, we don’t know what this something is.

The girl shoots, but the goalie makes a save. She falls on her knees in disappointment. Here the story shifts focus as another girl steps forward and puts a hand on her shoulder.

The VO now says that another reason might be because you’re a team player.

Context information

There are a lot of reasons for joining the Swedish Armed Forces. Like fighting for freedom of expression, choice and religion in one of the most progressive countries in the world. But there are also more individual and mundane, but perhaps equally important reasons. For instance, the chance to move out of your parents´ house or getting a break from your studies. This campaign focuses on a variety of reasons for joining The Swedish Armed Forces. Each of the three films exemplify a few of them – some broad, some highly personal.
