In this film, you're submerged in Newark's rich soulful creative heritage. Sonically, you're greeted by the City's Mayor and a jazzy rhythm and visually greeted by Brick city's texture and community. The Mayor's spoken word carries you through cultural moments, iconic landmarks, and the richness of Newark's presence. The original score picks up in tempo and we experience Newark through its warmth and fun. Then a local rapper takes over the piece and walks you a hit of streetwear culture history as we stroll through boutiques and shops. The piece rounds out with a violin solo and the Mayor closes out the piece with the city of Newark's community front and center - Welcoming you to Newark.

Newark is an iconic city whose history, texture, and creative richness have been eclipsed by its Airport. We enlisted local musicians to compose and produce an original score with the current City's Mayor, Ras Baraka. Accidently, we met Amandla Baraka, New Jersey-born and raised Director, and asked if she would be open to directing a film for Newark with the Mayor. She laughed and said, "That's my dad." She said, "yes," and together, we produced a reflection of the creativity, culture, and community that is Newark.
