In order to raise awareness on CEFMUs and connect a group of urban activists to become volunteers, who can spread the negative impacts and encourage rural young people to speak up, we set up ‘fake wedding invitation card’ of individuals and pretend to force them marrying unknown in different media platforms.

A wedding is supposed to be organised by bride and groom themselves. However, many girls and women in undeveloped countries are forced to marry someone they do not even know at their young age. We want to let citizens understand how people would feel under forced marriage and deliver the key message: #YourMarriageYourChoice

After creating curiosity and awareness, we hope to connect a group of urban activists to become volunteers on International Day of the Girl Child, to fight against CEFMUs.

Our primary target audience would be young activists living in urban cities between the ages of 16 and 26, digitally savvy.

We are going to launch the campaign from 20th Sep, 2024 to 11 Oct, 2024. Phase 1, we are going to hijack famous activists on social media by sending them ‘fake wedding invitation card’ and creative social buzz. Phase 2, we will develop a wedding invitation card generator and let urban activist to connect their peers by reposting their own wedding invitation cards and recruit more volunteers. Phase 3, we will launch the print ad of ‘fake wedding invitation card’, talking to policymakers and the mass, to concern CEFMUs.

After 3 phases, we will come to the finale of campaign. On 11 Oct, 2024 - the International Day of the Girl Child, all of the volunteers we recruited during campaign period, will be joining our online workshop. They will talk to young people in rural area and educate them the negative impact of CEFMUs and encourage them to speak up.
