A key challenge boosting climate actions is effective climate communication, which involves engaging young people as vocal advocates for the cause. Today's youth are the driving force behind climate action, fully aware of the urgent need to address the global crisis.
We wanted to come up with an idea to support young people in taking action towards the climate crisis and showing how powerful they can be in the world of media.
Young people are often criticized and blamed for spending too much time on their phones. However, our phones can be seen as a superpower. As diginatives, our digital world is intertwined with our daily lives. So, why not harness that power? We understand that when confronted with a crisis this big, it can be overwhelming, and you may wish someone would tell you where to begin or what to do.
Describe the creative idea/insights
Understanding the concerns of today's young generation, we introduce CliMate, a chatbot crafted to empower and guide the youth. A staggering 70% of young people express fear about the climate crisis but often find themselves uncertain of where to begin.
By answering three straightforward questions about their passions, skills, and areas needing attention, users unlock a world of personalized CliMate actions. Whether it entails supporting sustainable projects, advocating for policy change, or participating in grassroots initiatives, CliMate will be their valuable companion on the transformative journey towards a sustainable future.
CliMate understands the unique circumstances and aspirations of each individual, catering to their specific needs and ambitions. With CliMate by their side, young people can confidently navigate the complexities of climate action, harness their potential, and actively contribute to making a meaningful difference in the world. Leveraging the power of Gen Z attachment to their phones, the campaign introduces CliMate, a collaborative chatbot ambassador between New Zero World and ChatGPT. We are harnessing the diginatives' love for smartphones and transforming it into their superpower.
CliMate will act as a guide, providing information, answering questions, and offering tips to empower young people in making a positive impact. The campaign launch of CliMate will be in September on Zero Emissions Day, leveraging the occasion to create a viral momentum. By utilizing ChatGPT as the main media channel, the campaign capitalizes on the platform's striking appeal, generating buzz. The strategy aims to create a sense of empowerment among the target audience, turning their phone attachment, usually seen in a negative light, into a superpower. The campaign will empower youth to become climate champions to the global fight against climate crisis – thanks to their love of their phones.
