Describe the strategy

“Earth is hiring” brings just the right fresh take on the climate crisis narrative. We are neither naive, pathetic, doomy or cynical. We unite and offer action. Simplifying this Gigantic issue enough for everyone to take their unique part.

We are where the attention is. We tackle Gen Z’s anxiety about the climate and their own future on two levels. They are job searching and are at the perfect touchpoint for the life and world changing action we help them with.

Right balance between individual behavior changes and institutional changes is needed. We use media planning (a mix of earned media, partnerships and scaling through paid channels) to target both in a way that gives enough agency to every young person, as well as a sense of power to change the world around them on a large scale.

Describe the execution

Kicking off the campaign on Workers Day, we staff up the most important employer, the Earth, through taking over the Gen Z job market channels. To reach our target audiences we partner with LinkedIn and job portals on a global and local level. We also make use of Google and Meta NGO programs and run campaigns targeted around user behavior and keywords usage reaching our job “candidates”. We reach GenZ on school job fares and campuses, as well as #CareerTok. We unite and organize all of the Earth employees through Slack, to make the climate action even more tangible and sustained.

We push it further by PR driven rebrands into Earth Offices. Our campaign will push employers to symbolically rebrand their business for National Earth day as a pledge for climate action. Companies also pledge to respect Working for Earth as a valid experience and offer internships to Earth employees.
